Basketball club

Hooked on Hoop!

W.E. Glasgow Basketball is a freshly established club as of the beginning of 2024. We are actively seeking new members interested in joining dynamic team-building experiences.

Our club is dedicated to fostering a sense of community through basketball, and we invite individuals of all skill levels and backgrounds to be a part of this exciting journey.

Our current members span a diverse range of ages, including those in their 20s, 30s, 40s, and beyond. And we have sufficient coaching capacity so are planning junior team development.

Join us for our weekly two-hour slot exclusively for Women and Non-binary individuals aged 18 and above.

Volunteer-led community basketball
Based in Glasgow's West End

Our mission is to provide affordable and fun team basketball for all. We began with team development for women and non-binary people. And are pursuing funding to enable the launch of new junior teams, synchronised parent and child practices over weekend slots, and a possible senior mixed team in future.

The club has ways to help with your basketball costs if needed: session fees, transport, child care etc – please ask.

The Ravens
The summer of 2024 is a key stage in the growth and development of our senior (18+) women’s and non-binary team – The Ravens. This team has structured training, will play friendly matches, enjoy some other special bball events, and will prepare for entry into the competitive Strathclyde local league for the 2024-2025 season beginning in autumn.

Planned New Teams
With an initial focus on Women and Non-binary players, our club aims to provide a second senior practice soon – potentially enabling a mixed gender team to enter a new division of the local league. Plus, our Club has sufficient certified coaches and is actively pursuing projects to soon realise open days and new teams for junior players! Please email for info or to join a mailing list for planned new squads!

We are deeply grateful to Glasgow Life – Sport for seed funding that has enabled our Club to hit the ground running.

SUPPORTING THOSE WHO WISH TO GIVE BACK AND FOR ALL AMONG OUR TEAMS TO BE THEIR BEST, CONFIDENT SELVES.
