Hooked on Hoop!

W.E. Glasgow Basketball is a freshly established club as of the beginning of 2024. We are actively seeking new members interested in joining dynamic team-building experiences.

Our club is dedicated to fostering a sense of community through basketball, and we invite individuals of all skill levels and backgrounds to be a part of this exciting journey.

Our current adult women and non-binary members span a diverse range of ages, including those in their 20s, 30s, 40s, and beyond. We are currently growing our coaching capacity to potentially support new provisions in future.

Volunteer-led community basketball
Based in Glasgow's West End

Our mission is to provide affordable and fun team basketball for all. We began with team development for women and non-binary people. And have pursued funding to enable the launch of new provisions for girls and non-binary children, or synchronised parent and child practices over weekend slots in future.

The club has ways to help with your basketball costs if needed: session fees, transport, child care etc – please ask.

The Ravens
The summer of 2024 is a key stage in the growth and development of our senior (18+) women’s and non-binary team – The Ravens. This team has structured training, plays friendly matches, enjoys some other special bball events, and first entered the competitive Strathclyde local league for the 2024-2025 season.

Planned New Teams
With an initial focus on Women and Non-binary players, our club supports the Ravens local league team on weeknights and open recreational practice on Sunday afternoons. Other provisions may become possible in future.

We are deeply grateful to Glasgow Life – Sport, the National Lottery Community Fund’s Awards for All Scotland, and the GCVS Wellbeing Fund for seed monies that have enabled our Club to hit the ground running, attract and train new coaches and officials, and steadily expand activities with growth.

SUPPORTING THOSE WHO WISH TO GIVE BACK AND FOR ALL AMONG OUR TEAMS TO BE THEIR BEST, CONFIDENT SELVES.
